Katija holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science, Honours Degree (Taxation) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Katija is a Chartered Accountant and completed her articles at EY in 2014. Katija was seconded to EY LLP in the USA in 2015. On her return, she joined the Financial Accounting and Advisory Services division where she assisted both private and government clients. Katija has held various senior finance roles in listed and unlisted companies and has gained exposure to many industries including mining, real estate and security services.
