Our Area of Expertise
Treatment Optimisation
Affordable access to drugs and self-care tools – including, TB, oncology as well as HIV.
Clinical Research Innovations
Patient-centric, technology-enabled, clinical research innovations with a focus on clinical excellence.
Diagnostics
More broadly, as it is in-line with WHO strategies, patient monitoring, and management systems to support a broader public health improvement agenda.
Non-Communicable Diseases
Non-communicable diseases including mental health, diabetes, oncology, and hypertension.
Support to Other Government Priorities
Support to other government priorities, such as the transport industry (taxi drivers and truckers).
Goals and Objectives
- Increasing the number of research outputs and influence research outcomes.
- Increase publications and partnership within Wits University and other intellectual houses.
- Contribute to the implementation of policies and guidelines based on scientific and innovative research.
- Promote social justice in the healthcare system, and provide affordable, and equitable access to healthcare for everyone, especially the historically disenfranchised populations, to improve the quality of life through areas like; chronic care including and limited to diabetes, high blood pressure, HIV, TB, and other chronic diseases.
- Mentoring Masters and PhD students and sharing quality knowledge and expertise.
- Increase the number of graduates with specialised skills and expertise in the healthcare sector.
- Support the academic and professional staff in career development.
- Through our research outputs, innovation, and strategic partnerships, we can contribute and inform policy guidelines and development, locally and globally.
- Our leaders will engage and share knowledge on key healthcare topics and areas.
- Inclusion of previously disenfranchised groups in strategic positions of the organisation.
- Promote a culture of respect for diversity across races, gender, and backgrounds.
- Promote a safe, healthy, and respectful work environment.
